Integral Structural Design, Oxford Brookes University and Corus produced a study into the implications of going several storeys high in light steel framing with a brick outer leaf. After reappraising brickwork movement it was decided that with the correct choice of brick and careful detailing it was possible to build for four or five storeys without the need for shelf angles.
