The Eco House is an earth sheltered private house in Bath devoted to eco-living. The building is buried into the hillside and uses thermal mass of the hillside, thick insulation, air tightness and heat exchangers to provide a stable internal environment which negates the need for heating.
The building has a concrete ground and roof slab supported on load bearing walls which provides thermal mass.
The building won a sustainability award.
