Hamilton House, Bristol

Integral Structural Design has been appointed for the refurbishment of Hamilton House in Bristol which was constructed in the 1970’s. Planning has been approved to convert the building into mix use retail, offices and apartments. The project poses particular structural and architectural challenges due to the constraints of the existing building. The front of the building is a glass and glulam structure creating a winter garden to the main entrance. The refurbishment of such buildings is true sustainable design and there are many similar buildings, often in town centre sites, which similarly require a new lease of life.
