New extension to existing PFI school with Nicholas Hare Architects. The new building comprises of a new drama performance space, and both an out reach and special needs centre. The spaces are robust yet flexible and require careful acoustic separation. The building is a carefully detailed exposed concrete frame with exposed concrete soffits and non load bearing blockwork partitions throughout. The main performance space has a suspended high level flying gantry which enables the students to gain hands on experience of moving lights during the performances..
